Holy Week 2020

Hello, everyone!

I hope that your week has been good, and that you are staying safe and well. As always, if you are in need of help of any kind, please do not hesitate to reach out. There are many parishioners who are willing to help and many resources that we can access.

You have heard by now that Governor Pritzker has extended the Shelter-In-Place until April 30th. PLEASE be aware of and attend to the guidelines that are voiced by the CDC. This is for the safety and well-being of all people. We have to work together on this so that we can get through this together.

Sadly, our churches will be closed for Holy Week and Easter this year. While this is very upsetting news for us, we can remain connected to our church and to our faith. I have listed some resources that have come my way this week and that may be of interest to you:

Just a reminder that we are posting Scripture and Prayer from Fr. Larry and Musical Meditations from Mark Meier, our Director of Music, on our Facebook (St. Matthias Parish Chicago) and our Website (https://www.stmatthiasparish.com/). We will do more over Holy Week and Easter.

We know that times are tough now. If and however you are able to continue to financially support St. Matthias, we are truly grateful. Online giving is still available, or checks may be mailed to the rectory. You can also make donations via Give Central specific to now - https://www.givecentral.org/location/23. Thank you, always, for your generous support.

All staff at St. Matthias check email and phone messages daily, though the office is closed.

Let us continue to watch out for each other and pray with and for each other in these challenging and unique times.

Blessed Holy Week to each of you.

With love and prayers,
Fr. Larry and the Staff of St. Matthias
